The free MOT checker

The MOT history checker is free, needs no account, and stores none of the registrations you look up. It shows the official DVSA MOT record, which is a roadworthiness snapshot on the day of each test. It is general information, not a mechanical warranty and not advice on any individual purchase.

We do not guarantee the data

We read the record live from the DVSA MOT History API and show it as given. We do not promise it is complete or current, and the data owner occasionally holds an error. Check anything important against the vehicle and its documents before you rely on it.

Coverage

The data covers England, Scotland and Wales. Northern Ireland MOTs are administered by the DVA and are not included.

Our content

The words and design on this site belong to us. You may read them and share a link, but please do not copy the pages wholesale and present them as your own. The MOT data itself comes from the DVSA under the Open Government Licence.
