Is this vehicle a good buy?
Enter a registration for any UK car, van, motorcycle or lorry. We read the official DVSA MOT history and turn it into a plain scorecard: what is fine, what to ask about, and what should stop you. Free, no sign up.
Type the registration as it appears on the plate. Spaces do not matter.
What the score is, and what it is not
This is our arithmetic on public DVSA data. It is not a DVSA rating and it is not a mechanical inspection. It cannot see outstanding finance, insurance write-offs or stolen markers, because none of that is public data. What it does is read the MOT trail the way an experienced buyer would, and show its working.
What we deduct for
- A mileage reading that falls between tests. The heaviest deduction, because it is the only thing on this page we can prove.
- Gaps of more than 18 months between tests.
- Dangerous defects in the record.
- A failure rate above half of all tests taken.
- The same advisory appearing three times or more without being fixed.
- Very low annual mileage on a vehicle old enough for it to matter.
